A dedicated volunteer managed to respond to a pizza and cake counter closer from a Sainsbury's Superstore in Rugby.
To pick up 1 and a half rollers of salvage stock and distribute the same day to families and individuals in need.
Here is a heartfelt thank you for a service user which reflects the daily challenges being faced by the cost of living.
My husband and I had a shortfall in our income at the end of April because we were sick for a week and couldn't go to work. After paying rent and bills etc, we were left with £20 a week on groceries for the month of May. The pizza bases and chicken topping will take us a long way. All we have to do now is buy tomatoes and some vegetables.
The pizza will serve as lunch and dinner and the cake as breakfast.
Thank you very much to Volunteers Nancy and Wilson for your support and please thank the Looprun team for us.
The impact of RSBA1 Supportive Services means responding to people with free food resources, budgeting and planning, upskilling and personal development to sharing their personal story to help inspire others. And champion the anthem that the way is up!
This can only be achieved by working together with likeminded organisations, management, staff and volunteers to impact people in need within the community. Helping to create sustainability so no one goes hungry.
